ALL EVENTS INCLUDE:

- Complimentary admission for scout leaders to preview museum.

- Row seating for up to 60 people
- Registration and car weigh-in table with scale
- Laptop with timing software

- Derby car tables
- Covered display tables for awards and trophies

The Kansas City Automotive Museum is a 501c3 charitable corporation. A sliding donation scale for 2025, based on the size of each pack, between $275 – $500 please see “book now” link for more details. Donations go to covering the equipment, administration and staffing costs necessary for KCAM to continue to offer its space as an annual pinewood derby venue.
Yes! Date from most spreadsheets are able to be imported into the racing software ahead of time.
The derby is yours to run as you see fit.
No outside food or drink is permitted. All derbies will have a concession stand available where snacks and beverages may be purchased.
Each group is responsible for providing one or two volunteers age 16 and older to run the concession stand. Drinks, snacks and bills to make change are provided by the museum. All concession proceeds to to KCAM
Our staff can provide software training as your event nears.
Automotive Maintenance Badge
Join us for an Automotive Maintenance Badge Workshop!
During Museum Operating Hours:
$10 Per Adult
$15 Per Scout
After Hours:
$15 Per Adult
$20 Per Scout
Your Workshop Includes:
- A self-guided museum tour
- Some of the requirements for the badge or pin (suggested prerequisites sent in advance)
- Add an overnight experience to your class
- Date restrictions may apply.
OVERNIGHT AT THE MUSEUM
Indoor Camping Badge Opportunity for Boy/Girl Scouts
What: An overnight in the museum with a light breakfast provided in the morning. Departure from the museum by 8:00 a.m.
When: Available time slots are available in the month of January.
Who: Scouts who are Boy/Girl Scout age. (There is a maximum of 20 people, inclusive of campers and adults.)
Cost: $25 per scout/$20 per adult
