From the Curator: Packards

History often grasps a simple, concise phrase to encapsulate a time, an attitude, a movement, be it commercial, spiritual or political at its base. This month KCAM highlights one such commercial enterprise–PACKARD. From its inception, the Packard motor car was an attempt to not merely accept what was given, but to do it better, until it was among the best in the world. “Ask the man who owns one” stands as a confident assertion to let the work speak for itself. And so it did, throughout over half a century as the most widely recognised advertising slogan in the world.

We will spotlight Packards from a 1925 Runabout (convertible coupe) to a 1948 Station Sedan (woody). And don’t miss the spectacular 1940 Funeral Coach! Come in and compare the quality for yourself.

If you’ve not been here for a while, you must review the two Studebakers and two Jaguars on the main floor.
