Mr. C donates Ewing Kauffman’s Limousine to the Kansas City Automotive Museum
Kansas City, MO – The Kansas City Automotive Museum is proud to announce the addition of a remarkable piece of local history to its collection: Ewing Kauffman’s limousine.
The car, which once chauffeured the iconic Kansas City Royals founder and philanthropist, was generously donated by Mr. C, a longtime friend of Mr. Kauffman. “He was just one of the finest fellows I ever met. Always fun to be around. Extremely competitive, he was very competitive,” Mr. C said.
At one time, Mr. Kauffman’s 1989 Lincoln Town Car limousine transported him and some of the Royals’ finest players. Now, that history will be preserved at the Kansas City Automotive Museum.
This donation was celebrated with a special unveiling event at the museum, attended by the docents of the museum, Director of Collections, Butch Papon, and Jeff Wagoner, founder of the museum. The limousine stands as a symbol of Kauffman’s impact on the city, not only in sports but in business and civic leadership.
“Mr. K brought baseball back to Kansas City and was a major player in building World Series baseball here. Mr. K was a generous donor to our city in many ways, and it is in that spirit that we donate the limousine to the museum,” Mr. C said.
