From the Curator: Porsche – A Timeless Silhouette

Ferdinand Porsche is a name you may recognize, and for good reason! Ferdinand Porsche Sr. first designed the Volkswagen in the late 1930s in Germany before his son, Ferdinand Jr., helped design the first Porsche sportscar. Porsche debuted with the iconic 356 model in 1948, creating an instant classic. A 356 SL first competed in the 1951 LeMans, where it won the 1100cc engine class and finished 20th overall. Since then, the crowd of enthusiasts has only grown year over year.

From the first 356 to the modern 911, Porsches are known for their seamless curves, aerodynamic frame, and agile speed. You won’t have to compromise design or performance; you get the best of both worlds.

Porsche is also stepping into the modern age with new electric models and SUVs fit for the whole family. Because speed and style are just as important as reliability (at least in the Porsche world).
