From the Curator: Japanese Domestic Market

JDM

This April, we look across the Pacific to Japan. Though the country is small, their output is larger than life. JDM, or Japanese Domestic Market, as the name suggests, consists of cars made in Japan. Their popularity has grown around the world, and even strict import regulations can’t slow down a true JDM enthusiast.

You can recognize a true JDM car by its right-hand-drive steering wheel and innovative tech. The term “JDM” can also refer to the US market and locally modified Japanese brands; we just can’t get enough!

Rewatch some of your favorite movies, like Fast & Furious or Gran Tourismo, and you’ll see just how much these cars shine. And, if you want to see them in person, make sure to visit the museum this April.

The display will feature these vehicles and more!
2003 Honda S2000
1989 Nissan March
2024 Honda Motocompacto
1981 Honda ATC 110
1997 Acura NSX
1981 Datsun 280zx
1994 Mazda RX-7

Next month: We’re matching the high horsepower at home with American Muscle Cars.

Until next month,
