Legacy In Motion

Kansas City is on the rise, making waves in technology, innovation, sports, and culture — and the Kansas City Automotive Museum is driving right alongside that growth! With our expansion from a 10,000-square-foot space in Olathe to a cutting-edge 40,000-square-foot facility near our iconic Underground location in Kansas City, we’re creating a destination that will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the best our city has to offer. This isn’t just a museum; it’s Legacy in Motion.
Be part of something unforgettable. This expansion is your chance to join a new chapter in Kansas City’s incredible story. Don’t miss out on helping to build the future of our city’s automotive legacy!

“Since its inception in 2011, this museum has been about more than just automobiles—it’s a tribute to Kansas City’s rich and largely untold history, featuring stories of figures like Robert Greenlease, Homer Roberts, and Masten Gregory. The new building will not only bring the Museum into the heart of the city but also enhance our programs, making it a prime location for car lovers everywhere and a source of pride for all.”

celebrated.

With our new location, we will expand on the
years of dedication we have shown to the
motoring public of Kansas City. Our galleries
will delight all comers. Our programs will

The Kansas City Automotive Museum is a
501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable corporation.

Our goals

We are not shy about where we plan to go. We expect to have several thousand visitors per year standard and home-school groups from all over the region. With the upgrades to KC International airport, we foresee attracting most of the tourists who visit the city. Our partnerships with the area museums and car clubs ensure our attendance numbers will be out of this world.

The new museum building will not only bring the Museum into the center of the city, but will also provide the facilities to enhance our many programs. The Museum has proven its potential to bring a multitude of benefits to Kansas City, we just need to take the fi nal step to give it the home it deserves.

The perfect location locally,
regionally, nationally, globally,
and historically

It is not a secret that Kansas City is in the middle of it all. We are surrounded by national highways, some of the first ever built. We are a joyfilled road trip from just about anywhere. And, the museum’s new location at the leading edge of Penn Valley Park sets us up to be the centerpiece of KC culture. With the incredible location we have, surrounded by parks and green spaces, a fantastic view of our beautiful downtown and located right in the middle of the United States, the Kansas City Automotive Museum will be ideally situated for national organizations to hold their annual conventions.

Education

Our commitment to educating the youth of Kansas City has been one of our cornerstones since we first opened in Olathe. With our expanded space, we will welcome even more student groups from all over the city.

Kansas City is known for being family-friendly, and we are dedicated to offering learning opportunities for everyone, no matter their age.

The new Kids Area shares easy to grasp ideas of what makes a car look good and ride smoothly. Here, adults can pretend they know all this and show off for their kids and grandkids!
